Photo Gallery | Auburn artist Vincent DiLeo to receive state fair award

There were 1,200 entries entered  into the California State Fair Fine Art Competition. Of those, Vincent DiLeo was one of the 180 artists selected to showcase his work.   For the second year in a row he has received an award at this competition for his unusual photomontages. He will receive an “Award of Merit” for his Digital Photograph titled “Enjoying The Day”.

The photomontage “Enjoying The Day” was entered in the “Digital Art” category and judged by Don Button, Professor, Graphic Communication Department, Sacramento City College. It can be seen at California State Fair starting on July 8-24, 2016 and it is also available for sale at the High Hand Art Gallery located in Loomis, California. The awards ceremony takes place on Saturday, July 9, 2016  at the California State Fair.

This work is from a new series of photographs where Vincent scans a vintage photograph and small objects to be placed in the scene . He then uses Photoshop to composite his own photographs into the scene to create a surreal fantasy world.

Vincent will be having an exhibition of his new work in May of 2017.  This exhibit is called “A Simpler Time” and will include vintage photographs and the same techniques that he used to create “Enjoying The Day”. More details about this exhibit can be found on his website at www.vincentdileo.com after December 2016.
