Auto Museum displays “Flash” CHP exhibit

Don’t blink!

The California Automobile Museum, in partnership with the California Highway Patrol Museum in West Sacramento, is proud to present a fun “flash” CHP exhibit on display now through Sunday, March 5, 2017.

The short-term exhibit will showcase “flashy” highway patrol cars – such as a 1973 Dodge Coronet, a 1992 Mustang, a rare 1999 Volvo S270 with a high-performance turbo engine and a brand new Dodge Charger. Some of the cars on display are typical of CHP cars at the time of their use, but the exhibit also highlights the innovative ways the cars were used by the CHP.  In addition, a number of iconic motorcycles – including a 1973 Moto Guzzi and a brand new CHP Harley-Davidson – will also be on display.  All of the eye-catching vehicles included in the exhibit demonstrate the CHP’s compelling history from the past to the present.

California State Parks Specialized License Plate Now Available

California State Parks (State Parks) has unveiled its specialized vehicle license plate "ParksPLATE”.

The design of the plate features California’s official tree, the California redwood. Proceeds from the sale and annual renewal of the plate will provide an ongoing funding source for the restoration and preservation of state parks across California.

State Parks officials unveiled the specialized plate at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park where some of the most extensive restorations since a major reconstruction effort in the 1890s are currently underway. Plate sales will support restoration projects like this one and help the department restore and preserve California’s state park system.

Sac Intl Airport Ranks High in Customer Service

Sac Intl Airport Ranks High in Customer Service

For the second year in a row, Sacramento International Airport has been ranked 4th in North America for customer service by Airports Council International (ACI), the international trade association for commercial airports.

The awards were determined by the cumulative results of Airport Service Quality (ASQ) surveys collected in 2013. ASQ Awards recognize the best airports based on passenger surveys, and are the only global survey measuring passengers' satisfaction while still at the gate. All airports use the same questionnaire and follow the same scientifically-designed methodology.

Since their creation in 2006, the ASQ Awards have become the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark, with more than 280 airports participating.
