Kick'n it for the Trees

Kick'n it for the Trees

It’s no accident that Sacramento is known as “The City of Trees.” Most of the trees that line our streets, decorate our parks, and provide blissful reprieve from our summer sun were planted by someone. For over 150 years, the people of Sacramento have planted and loved the city’s trees – making our urban forest one of the Top 10 in the U.S. And while planting trees can be arduous work with all the dirt and shovels, there’s a new way to help make sure that Sacramento stays in the shade for many summers to come.

California FootGolf Club Challenges local soccer and FootGolf Players for a chance at $1,000

California FootGolf Club is calling all local and regional soccer and FootGolf players to compete with their feet. The $1,000 FootGolf Challenge will be a competition of power, precision, and skill and open to any player 18 years and older. This tournament will be the first of its kind in Northern California and will be held October 11, 2014 at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.

FootGolf uses golf’s basic model including tee boxes, greens, bunkers, hazards and 18 holes of play. A FootGolf  player “tees off” by kicking a soccer ball towards a 21 inch diameter hole while counting his or her strokes. Currently, FootGolf is offered at six different golf courses in the Sacramento area.
