$2.4 Million grant funds new project to assist people experiencing homelessness

The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration has awarded the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency a $2,399,328 ($799,776 annually over a three-year period) Cooperative Agreements to Benefit Homeless Individuals grant to provide intensive care to people experiencing homelessness with mental health and substance use disorders through the Extended Hope project.

CORKS FOR A CURE  Let’s Toast to a Cure for PKD

Join others in the Sacramento community as we come together to raise funds and awareness for the fourth leading cause of kidney failure, polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in which there is no treatment and no cure.

Four families volunteering for the Sacramento Chapter of the PKD Foundation, who are emotionally and personally touched by polycystic kidney disease, are proudly hosting Corks for a Cure for the Sacramento community, on February 27th at the North Ridge Country Club in Fair Oaks. The events mission is to raise funds and awareness for polycystic kidney disease (PKD), in which there is no treatment and no cure.

Sacramento to Celebrate Heart Month with Go Red For Women Event at Arden Fair

Featuring a Macy’s fashion show, healthy cooking demos, CPR trainings, giveaways and more

WHAT:  The American Heart Association in Sacramento will celebrate American Heart Month with its own Go Red fashion show at Arden Fair on Saturday, February 6. The fashion show will feature local adult and children heart disease survivors, cardiologists and volunteers. The event will also feature healthy cooking demos, free health screenings, CPR trainings and giveaways. Women, men and families of all ages are invited to attend the celebration and to help raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women by wearing red.       

WHO:  The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women is asking everyone to help America Go Red!
